Stanley Hatch, O.D.

Dr. Hatch is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He received his Doctor of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University following a bachelor degree from St. Lawrence University. He completed a residency in pediatric and binocular vision at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

In 1995 Dr. Hatch obtained a Masters of Public Health from Harvard. Prior to joining Eye Care for the Adirondacks in 1996, Dr. Hatch was a faculty member at the New England College of Optometry and practiced at the New England Eye Institute. He has written numerous articles for leading Optometric publications.

Dr. Hatch provides primary eye care to patients of all ages. He specializes in working with children and patients of any age who require low vision eye care. Patients can be scheduled to see him at Eye Care for the Adirondack's 450 Margaret Street office in Plattsburgh, NY. Dr. Hatch also conducts quarterly low vision clinics in Malone.

Dr. Hatch holds an optometric license in the State of New York and Massachusetts. Professional Society memberships include:

Dr. Hatch has received the American Academy of Optometry's highest certification in pediatric eye care, the Diplomate in Pediatrics, Binocular Vision and Perception.
The Diplomate requires written case reports of publishable quality, passing a written exam, passing a practical exam and defending one's work in an oral exam. Dr. Hatch began the process several years ago and passed the exams during the academy's annual meeting.
There are only 43 active optometrists who have received this distinction.
Dr. Hatch is an investigator in the National Eye Institute's Amblyopia Treatment Studies, a series of multi-center clinical trials on Amblyopia treatment. He also serves on two committees for the National Board of Optometric Examiners.
